Head Teacher
Julia Hamilton

Swaffield is a highly creative, forward-thinking community school where, from the very start of their journey in Nursery to when they leave in Year 6, the children are taught the skills and knowledge to succeed not only in school, but in life.

I have unrelenting expectations of attainment and behaviour for every single pupil and am privileged to have an excellent staff team who share my passion for ensuring that every child achieves their absolute best.

Swaffield has always had a reputation for being a “happy school” and I am very proud of that fact: Only when a child is happy, safe and secure can they really have the confidence to step out of their comfort zone and challenge themselves in their learning. Swaffield’s teachers ensure that our children are challenged in every lesson, every day. As a result, our children thrive academically.

Have a look at our video so you can get a glimpse of what makes Swaffield so progressive and so unique, or make an appointment to come and meet with me and have a tour from the children so you can see our wonderful school for yourself.

World Book Day

For World Book Day, our KS2 Reading Ambassadors took on the teachers in charades. With tricky book titles including:

The Very Hungry Caterpillar by Eric Carle

Talking Turkeys by Benjamin Zephaniah

and The Iron Man by Ted Hughes

Talking Turkeys by Benjamin Zephaniah

it tested the acting skills and book knowledge of both teams and
was thoroughly enjoyed by our pyjama-wearing audience!
